997 battery replacement
any suggestions on where to pick up a replacement battery in Toronto. I think mine is on the way out and not worth gambling with it when I take the car out of storage

Check with any Audi dealer, they have the identical battery to the stock Porsche 997, at a fraction of the Porsche price....
I replaced mine last summer and was let into this "little secret" by my Porsche/Audi dealer!!

just replaced my battery in my 2007 C4S today. Although many recommend the Interstate MTP-H7, which is a BCI Group 94R battery (size approx: H: 7.5, H: 6 7/8 L: 12.5). 94R batteries are available from Canadian Tire (Exide battery) for $149 or from Wal-Mart under Energizer brand (made my Johnson Controls) for $117 (part number is 108-94R).
I used the Energizer from Wal-Mart, which has 765CCA and 956 CA. It's a direct fit, including the vent hose on the passenger side. I stole the driver side vent plug from the old battery.
Seems to crank a lot stronger than the old one ever did. Battery has a 3yr replacement and 9yr pro-rate warranty.

Big thank you to you, went through the same thing just now. Went straight to WM and got the last 108-94R on the shelf. And thanks for the tip about keeping the driver's side vent plug from the old battery.

YOu're welcome. Thought I would share the tip as it was a great price for a decent battery - probably a lot better than stock.
A friend of mine with the same car & year went to Downtown and I think it cost him over $400 and he probably got the crappy OEM battery

It's unbelievable how crappy is the OEM battery. The battery in my wife's Subaru is still going strong after almost 8.5 yrs; the battery in my neighbor's Honda died after 11 yrs. Mine lasted only 4.5 yrs.
