It may help if we should start posting the links to the dealers carrying scissor lifts. To start here are two that carry the Pro 6 MR, unfortunately they both price them at a $1795... yikes!

The scissor lift is shown at the bottom of the page.

Moving these thing on a level floor isn't too bad. One end has steel rollers and the other a plate with a 3/4" hole. The pump unit is on wheels with a plate and 5/8" prong. The pump unit acts as a dolly and picks up an end and so it's all on wheels. Still is easier if two people do the pulling. In my garage the unit started walking around after repeated use so I fastened it down using a couple of flat plates and a piece of 2" pipe cut in half. Welded the pipe pieces to the plate so that it acted as a cradle and bolted them to the floor. My garage has a vinyl floor and was not a good surface for the rollers to run on and from fully down to fully up they need about 24" on the floor so I layed a couple of pieces of 1/4" plate 4" wide by 30" long. It all works well now.

Just realized it's $2,499 at Princess Auto.
Someone brought these up a few months ago. I really like the pack and go capability of them. Gotta make sure your anchors are rock solid though...

They almost all seem to be made by the same company with different labels and colors. I purchased mine from Clarkes. I have had it a few years now and could not live without it. Most seem to tall for any lowered cars and 2X8s on the floor help get the car up and onto it. I like the idea of cutting the floor and recessing it. Someday hopefully. Although it was overloaded mine has lifted my 2001 F350 diesel dually

There is an engineering issue with lowering it. On the floor the force is distibuted radially out fromt the stand point across the entire floor . If you were to dig down 6 inches redo the concrete and put the lift in you are distributing the weight over a much samller area, basically the size of the pit you dug. If you are on the gravel bed underneath you might be okay but if there was any settling underneath it might go through the floor.
i might do this but would need to consult a civil or construction engineer.

I was lucky to get mine for $1200 picked up in Omeemee. Great people to deal with. One of the owners was a demolition derby driver and must have 300 trophies around the shop, some 5-6' tall I would imagine they would be very receptive to a price deal on a group buy, more so than a bigger retail store
