We have multiple shipping points within the US. Some of our locations can work with USPS, While all ship via UPS and FedEx. That being said, all our international orders (including our neighbors in Canada) we handle the old fashion way, one at a time. Each one has its own unique requirements. If time allows, we can transfer product from one warehouse to another and then accommodate the USPS shipment. this usually adds about 3-5 days to the shipping time. We are in the service businesses, so where our happy to do it when we can. Chuck

Never
Never use UPS or any other courier for trans-border orders. USPS is the only way to go and not get raped with the BS "Brokerage" fees. Only other option is US drop and pick it up yourself in the States.

Burning Brakes
I bring car items up from the US or Europe almost on a monthly basis. UPS brokerage charges are terrible while recent Fed-Ex shipment (value about $2,200) was only $10 brokerage plus HST!
USPS is cheapest by far but sometimes shipment is too big for that method. I then specify Fed-Ex and if that's not available have the package(s) shipped to a US depot and go down and bring back myself.

Picking up at the border can be a pain..... I tried unsuccesfully to order a Motive Bleeder from Pelican (not in stock) and have it delivered to NF, NY. My family is flying home from a March Break vacation next Tues.
I tried to time it so that the package would arrive a few days before they get back on the 22nd to avoid paying storage, but the part is OOS, and will take an extra 5 days to get in... and won't get to Niagara Falls in time.
Probably going to order the plain European model bleeder from Wheelwax.ca, although I still don't like the explanation to why his stuff is $20 higher than Pelican's.....
The shipping companies have it about right.... they charge enough in shipping to make it very profitable for them, but it's not quite enough (for me) at least to spend a 2-3hr round trip to pick it up myself.....

One thing I forgot to bring up was the fact that many shipments within the US are free over $50 (Autohaus AZ) or over $75 (Pelican).
Considering shipping charges are not usually less than $10 per package, that alone pays for my gas down and back to The UPS Store.

shipping
i use PAYPAL, guaranteed by Visa card. almost everybody takes that.
also shipping to US alot less then shipping here.
Gas is $4 a gallon there, here in PQ, almost $6, so i fill up down there too.

I just purchased a pair of clear side markers for my '07 C4S from Pfaff for $57.11 taxes included. Cheaper than Suncoast once delivered into Canada. Sometimes it pays to buy Canadian. I support my Canadian suppliers as much as I can.
