Default ROGERS SPORTSNET TO CARRY AMERICAN LE MANS RACES LIVE IN CANADA

Great news for all ALMS fans

TORONTO, Canada (July 9, 2011) - The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón has reached an agreement with Rogers Sportsnet to carry six of the Series' remaining 2011 races live in Canada. The live broadcast schedule will begin with today's Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park and includes the upcoming Mobil 1 Presents the Grand Prix of Mosport.

In addition to the races at Lime Rock Park and Mosport International Raceway, the agreement between Rogers Sportsnet and ALMS includes live broadcasts of the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge, the Road Race Showcase at Road America, the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix, and the ModSpace American Le Mans Monterey Patrón at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Rogers Sportsnet will also air a season-ending highlight program produced by Greenlight TV.

"Ever since we announced the TV package for the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón, we have been working hard to increase our distribution internationally. Canadian audiences have always been some of the most passionate consumers of ALMS racing which has long been anchored at Mosport International Raceway. Adding Rogers Sportsnet to our growing spectrum of international TV carriers is great news for our loyal Canadian viewers," ALMS President and CEO Scott Atherton said. "We are thrilled to partner with Canada's leader in live HD event broadcasts."

The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón is the world's leading sports car championship and is recognized as the Global Leader in Green Racing. In the tradition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, multiple classes of cars - purpose-built prototypes (LMP) and production-based Grand Touring (GT) automobiles - race on the track at the same time to create compelling race action and constant passing. All cars in the Series compete using one of five approved alternative fuels or energy sources: clean sulfur-free diesel, cellulosic E85 or E10, Isobutanol and electric hybrid technologies. The Series has more automobile manufacturers involved than any other major race series in the world as the participating car companies develop relevant technologies on track that transfer directly to the production line and ultimately to the showroom floor. The ALMS competes at North America's premier road racing tracks and selected temporary street circuits in major urban markets.

Round three of the 2011 Series from Lime Rock Park is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 9 with more than three hours of live video coverage on ESPN3.com in the US and on americanlemans.com outside the U.S. Worldwide, live audio coverage also will be available on American Le Mans Radio at americanlemans.com on July 9. For more information on the broadcasts, go to www.americanlemans.com/tv.

Yes, the prototype field is a little lame- there will only be 4 for the race at Mosport in two weeks. The real action is in GT where you have the Porsche/Corvette/BMW/Ferrari/Ford GT battle which is awesome.
