Ottawa Cars & Coffee

This has nothing to do with Cars 'n' Coffee, but I wonder whether any of you guys would be interested in helping out at the Ted Powell race weekend at Calabogie. The racing will be on Sep 1 & 2 with practice and quali on Aug 31. There will be many classes running on the full track throughout the weekend - details can be found here:

I am responsible for the Track Services crew, which cleans up spills, helps remove disabled cars and restores tire walls if necessary. There will be 16 people in 4 trucks located around the track, so you'd get to see the racing from places that are not normally accessible. Lunch is included both Sat & Sun and there's a BBQ Sat night with FREE BEER! Transportation and accommodation would be your responsibility. The only skill required is swinging a broom.
If you're available and willing to help, please PM me or send an e-mail to "dpimotorsports at yahoo dot ca".
Thanks for reading - see you soon.

I know I've been AWOL for the past, er, few C&C's but I'm finding it difficult to get out of the house in time to get into Ottawa for 10am now that our daughter is here, especially Sunday mornings!
We had some discussion about moving the C&C south of town to keep us out of the city traffic (and away from the ALWAYS red lights Ottawa prides itself on) and Manotick seemed popular but it was pointed out that the parking lot for the mall it is in might be pretty busy weekend mornings.
So... how does everyone feel about Kemptville? There's a fantastic independent coffee shop here called Brewed Awakenings that offers a big parking lot, easy access being right on highway 43 (neat 416) and mouth-watering homemade treats. Did I mention three types of coffee brewing all the time, plus a flavoured coffee option, lattees, etc? There are lots of fun roads connecting Ottawa (and surrounding towns) to Kemptville if the 416 isn't your bag.

The townies just need to visualize the fun 1/2 hour drive out to K'ville and back for the coffee meet... what Porsche owner doesn't enjoy an early morning drive in the country?

Owen has requested that I bring him to see the Porsche guys....we should be there tomorrow!
About a venue change to K-ville, I'd be up for that....the cheaper gas is a nice perk too.

We can do a Kemptville coffee meet next week, if you'd like. I'm out for today though... the grandparents are heading over soon to babysit so Mommy and I can get out for a bike ride!

Had a great morning for Cars & Coffee - Kemptville Style. Glad to see folks make it out, but sorry to hear that JJ had more starting issues with his slantnose!
Brewed Awakenings is definitely superior coffee-wise to Starbuck's, cheaper too for us paupers! Hung out until 12:30 or so, then went for a quick drive down some twisty, scenic country roads. Much more relaxing than the Queensway!
Perhaps we can do this again in the near future? It was definitely nice to have some adult conversation this morning!
