The back sides of the curbs at Shannonville can be deadly. They haven't figured out that perhaps it might be a good idea to back fill the back side of the cement curb once in a few years and I've seen this before where a car gets a wheel on the wrong side of the curb and lands in a deep gully and the driver jerks the wheel and the leverage snaps the ball joint out and as soon as the car spins out onto the track - the forces pull the rest of the suspension off or breaks the wheel studs.

Seems he used the wrong lug nut size somehow.

I saw this at pit out at Toronto one year when the same thing happened to an Indy Lights. Turned out that the airgun made all the right noises as the guys changed the tires they roll the car out to pit lane on and changed over to the race set - but the air pressure was only a few pounds output - enough to make noise and spin the nut a few cm's but not nearly tight enough.
