okay the post above was pointless..
whatever dude .. your car wrapped in gold and worth a fortune coz you checked your panel gaps right ? if a gap isnt bang on your going to asume it was in an accident ? dude go check out any brand new car .. dont let this disuade you from any car .. deal with the facts .. not with fear mongering frivalous assumptions.. oh my god there is a spot of blood on the ground .. there must have been a murder here..
a guy could have removed a hood even for stone chip painting... point is just go with facts .. dont let fear mongering from this clown above keep you from a car.. remeber these cars were hand built , not by robots cranking them out on an assembly line. dont do as above poster wants you to belive that if you are out 2mm on one side of the car more than the other than to assume it has been a major accident and you will be blowing your 25 grand ..
any body man worth his salt can fix panel gaps anyway so gaps or no gaps tells you nothing.. people just read stuff on the internet and regurgitate it all the time coz its the cool thing to say..
just be informed dont let surface facts steer you in the wrong direction and if the price is right for you and it checks out on a PPI go for it ..
oh btw i have a 911 and the front drivers wheel is a little more offset to the left than the right .. so on certain tire sizes the front drivers might rub ... above poster would have you convinced it was hit and to buy you are blowing all your money ..
the knowlegable would know this is reality on 911s hand constructed from that era .. but unless you were informed you would base your descision on the frivalous advice above ...
good luck and whatever car you decide, on enjoy it ..

That's quite the morning rant.
My last piece of advice: read up the threads in the 993 forum on purchasing a 993, PPI's, etc... I would steer away from people who haven't gone through the process.

LOL. "oh my god there is a spot of blood on the ground .. there must have been a murder here.." (<---awesome)
I think it's valid to say that if a car's panels do not align to question it and
investigate further.. And I also very much would NOT be deterred from possibly
purchasing a car that has had a repaint, or previous accident. But only if it was
documented and passed a rigorous pre purchase inspection ~ both mechanical
and body (paint meter and physical checks). And I definitely agree that a car
with stories for mid 20s is different than same car for mid 40s..

Lots of good advice here (and some great rants!), but just remember that even a great PPI doesn't always tell the whole story, and it certainly isn't a guarantee that things wont go wrong ($$$)... but that's the nature of these beasts. Do lots of research and buy with your eyes open. Good luck!

I heard that it was a robbery. 3 guys went in, robbed a client and then shot the
GM in the leg. The whole place is behind police tape, and apparently will open
tomorrow!
Crazy..

I test drove that one during my recent search
Drives really well and in pretty nice shape. Dealer told me he has all the recent service records too. Was on my short list, but I found one with less mileage (cost more too, so I think their price is in range of what's out there).
Enjoy the hunt.
