Default OT: Dave Brubeck passed away today

Aged 91; performed right up until the end and a fixture at the TO Jazz Festival for years. JazzFM is playing his music in tribute.....

One of my all-time favorite sax players as well. Unlike Dave, Paul died relatively young, real shame.

I caught his quartet at Massey Hall a few years back. Unfortunately Joe Morello and Paul Desmond were not part of the group but it was still a memorable event. I am not sure I would classify him as one of the ambassadors of jazz but nonetheless an important figure in its evolution. He will be sadly missed.
