USPS is definitely the way to go from Pelican. There's sometimes a Canada Post brokerage charge, but it's only a few dollars, at least always has been with me - usually no charge, but I've been dinged for $8 once.

In this case, I got my order from Pelican in about a week, which was a week faster than the autopartsway morons were able to process my refund.

I'll stick with Pelican I guess.

How is the shipping with them? What is the cost and how long does it usually take to ship to say, Kingston/Ottawa area?
Look into getting a free account with Kinek. This service provides you with an American drop-off point (address) that will accept your mail-order parcels until you come to pick them up. While the account is free, each parcel costs $5 or more for the service. I have used Kinek for several years and have yet to pay more than $5 for anything including carpets, wheel well inserts (don't ask) and a console!

The nearest pick-up location if you're in Kingston is Wellesley Island Building Supply Co. on--wait for it--Wellesley Island, of course.

You can find out more at https://www.kinek.com/find-a-kinekpo...rProvinceId=55

Thanks Roger, I'll definitely look into that.

Someone PMed me about some other workarounds too. There's definitely options for us.

They happen to also be some of the nicest people in any store, anywhere. I sure miss that about Kingston!

I just had a great experience with Autopartsway and searched here to see if anyone else used them before.

For me,

Ordered two front shocks on Saturday & on Monday received the shipping confirmation. Monday night it showed shipping from Richmond BC and was delivered today (Tues) at 1pm (free shipping)

Ordered a second pair of shocks today around 1:30pm and received the tracking number at 3:00pm. Looks like it is the same shipping (UPS) and will be delivered next day (Wednesday) free

The cheapest price in the U.S was Rock Auto and the total shipped here (not including any brokerage fee) was $312 Cnd with two week shipping time

Autopartsway was $158 Cnd (why I ordered a second pair)

I've always had good luck with Autopartsway, but prices sometimes are really bad...cross shop many suppliers, sometimes APW works out the best

Well one of the shocks received today was dead on arrival with no rebound at all. The box had been opened before and taped up.

Return process started.

They are hit or miss, they have shipped me teh wrong part many times. and the worst part is I have to pay for shipping to send it back.

If you order anything for a 996 C4s, they often send you Turbo parts which is incorrect when it comes to air filter, oil filters etc.. Same thing with my VW Golf R, I end up with Golf 2.5 or 2.0T parts all the time.

I've been using them for years and never had a problem,... "knock on wood".

I find that they have the best deals on Zimmermann rotors (Z coated), competitive prices combined with free shipping.

it appears that they have not made the adjustments for the CA$ as of yet, thats why I'm ordering all maintenance parts I can.

If you consider them sending you a previously-returned item, then waiting 3 weeks waiting on a refund a success story, then congrats, I suppose. Personally I think that's unacceptable.
