Default Do I qualify for classic car insurance?

Hi guys,

I have a low milage '96 C2 and am thinking I am overpaying for 'daily commercial' insurance. Any thoughts on +17 car insurance?

Many thanks!

Give Hagerty/Lant/Silver Wheels a call. I'm sure they can hook you up, as long as you don't use the car as a daily driver.

My '96 turbo is with Hagerty, the age of your C2 certainly qualifies you unless you have done a lot of mods, they frown on that....

Over 15 years and you're in. Ask for Jackie at Silver Wheels.

we've gone through a number of classic insurance companies, when getting the Porsche's appraised again a few months ago, it was highly suggested we try Vintage Insurance from Reeds Insurance (name?), have been very happy with the price and terms of use.

I've been with Silver wheels(Hagerty) for a year now and couldnt be happier. I'm paying $550 a year with insurance all year around.

for the best rates contact Jason at Reeds now called vintage auto insurance
800.307.7066
his rates are better than haggerty (which should be going up in price over the next few years, I have been told). Even with haggerty you are asking for trouble without an appraisal. again vintage is cheaper and will be much cheaper in near future (sources say). Disclaimer; I perform insurance appraisals and I do offer special on appraisals for rennlisters.

By all means call, but when I checked him out a year or so ago, Jason would only quote on very low deductables and Silver Wheels was way cheaper at higher deductables which make sense on a Porsche.

I have an agreed amount without an apraisal, you pay premiums on the amount you want to insure for. The endorsement covers agreed value of what i insured for. At least for me anyway.

^^^ +1 and saved me the appraisal fee. As with most things the process will likely change in years to come and it always pays to check the competition as part of the regular yearly renewal routine.

For under a couple hundred, I'll do the appraisals on my vehicles anyway, just in case there's ever an issue.

I'm a little miffed about the appraisal with my insurance company (TD).
They made me get one a few years ago and based my rates on it.
When I spoke to them last year they said even though my insurance is based on my appraisal they would pay market value on a write off. WTF!!!
