Default Winter Storage Pics....

Let's see those winter storage hibernation pics....

I'll start,
Stored at my in-laws as they have extra garage space. I can keep our DD cars in my garage through out the winter so no scraping in the morning.

Sleeping like a bear.....miss her already.

This was where my car spent last winter, at a friend's place, on an acreage:

But she sold her place, so this year, it's in a local storage facility that's part of an autobody operation. It's got some pretty exclusive company.

The CT foam tiles are re-useable and work better. Why is everyone storing their car before the first permanent snow fall? I'm usually able to drive the mistress right up to Christmas. Have Z in local apartment building heated underground. Take either out when roads are dry and salt free.

Good question. I don't put mine away until the salt trucks come out, whether there's snow or not!

We just got another car, and ran out of garage space. Previously, I've had the 993 out as late as December, if the roads are dry.

I take mine out on cold clear days as well. Fourth 911 and I have never put any into hibernation.

I use the 2" styrofoam from Home Depot for $12. No issues and it was a little bit of a pain to drive on top but I like the height in the foam. Added PSI into the tires for extra comfort. Lately our winters in stouffville have been pretty bad.....

I made a choice a few years ago. Have a 400 RWHP bruiser sit in the garage 90% of the time, and drive a "normal" daily driver that I hate, OR sell both, and buy an older Porsche that I can simply enjoy every day. When I'm done with this car, I'll buy another and do the same thing. I commute 200km/day, and spend many hours during the week enjoying driving my Porsche...even in stop and go traffic and a foot of snow!

Do you use winter tires? If so, how is it when there's a fresh snow? I had a 944 winter beater for a few years. It had all seasons and was fine in very light snow, but terrible in anything more than a an inch or so deep. I've often considered buying another one, though. They're cheap enough that they're pretty much disposable, if you can get 3 or 4 years out of them. Heck, you could probably get all your money back if you parted it out. If only the 944 came in AWD
