Frozen windows
Had to drive to work with the door slightly open as the windows wouldnt unfreeze/release for the window to lower then seal. Didnt want to be slamming the door with the window at full height in this cold - might get expensive
Is there any way to override the window mechanism so that the windows do not raise all the way? I believe that even at that reduced height there is a sufficient seal to keep out snow etc
Thanks

Wouldn't they thaw after the cabin come up to temperature? I took my daughter and her friend to Pearson this morning at 7:00 for their holiday flight to Cancun. I let the truck run for 15 mins before starting out, just to get some heat into it. BTW the flight departure was scheduled for 10:30. She texted me at 12:00, and the plane was waiting still on the tarmac. She said they announced it would be 30 min more.

Wife texts husband on a cold winter's morning: "Windows frozen, won't open.
"Husband texts back: "Gently pour some lukewarm water over it.
"Wife texts back five minutes later: "Computer really f**ked up now."

Just guessing but wouldn't the motor be in the uninsulated part of the door panel?

If you can't **** in the cold, pour some windshield washer fluid on it.
I was out there today for 2 hours getting the two TDIs and the snowmobile going. Man was it ever cold when the wind was blowing. Had icecicles on my eyelashes.

That's tue, but I doubt the motor or the regulator would be affected by the cold. More likely it's the edges of the glass where it meets the frame would the problem. BTW. My daughter was still sitting on the tarmac at 2:30.

Lots of PO'd people at the airport today
Will try the windshield fluid tomorrow morning. I usually try wiggling and pushing gently from the top of the window but not much luck at these temps....

I wonder if a light coating of vaseline along the glass edges would help.
