Yesterday was nice, but Saturday it snowed both times I drove on the 400 starting just north of the 401. Good thing the daily driver has winters on already. Here's some pictures from my parents place from Saturday... their house is just north of Orangeville.

So I put my 911 away yesterday...

I would put my 944 away for the winter. Always did it too early. I bought a hardtop and Blizzaks for my 986.On another note. Why are hardtops for Boxsters a lot more than 911`s ?

Supply and demand, I think I have ever only seen one Boxter hardtop for sale locally, where there ar usually 2 to 3 996/997 hardtops for sale at any given time.

After almost 6 months in the weather I'm relieved that the car is finally under a borrowed roof.
I'll visit it all winter long 'cause the Hyundai doesn't make me smile.

...so this is why, I wrote this song, 'cause the Porsche is gone, for a long long while. (sorry, got carried away 'cause it sounded like a country song waiting to be written)

As the owner of a Porsche 993, I am paranoid of being rear ended in the winter time. So I avoid the risk completely by hibernating my Porsche every year. I also own a Jeep Wrangler which can take me almost anywhere, so it makes the decision of parking the Porsche pretty easy. My Jeep sports 35" tires on a 3" lift which gives me a good 17.5" of axle clearance. Snow? Roads? haha ... where we're going we don't need any roads.

As good and as versatile the Jeep is, on pavement my Porsche 993 is so much more fun to drive than the Jeep. Hence the reason why I keep the Porsche. When I had access to a race track, I was a regular track day rat pushing myself and my Porsche to the limit (which really helped me learn how to drive the Porsche). But the Jeep can go almost anywhere through almost anything.

Both of my vehicles are iconic "almost ageless" designs.

Wouldn't be any different even if weren't under the cover, I've not had any pest issues at all in all these years, plus I make enough ruckus in the garage daily with the DD that this should not be an issue.

Plus the shotgun is all loaded up and ready to go for varmint control.

On a separate note, wouldn't your garage be more at risk since there is no activity most of the time to scare off the critters?

Over the years I have had a huge mouse problem. 5 years ago I put one of these near the garage door as I knew that's where they were gaining entrance. Problem solved.

Me too now,

Car is delivered to the city. Subaru is here due to my lovely wife's ability to drive for once. Will check into Zak's winter storage facility tomorrow.

Safe and secure but sad to see the season away.

It was a sad day for me. They started salting the roads this week and the forcast for the next week or two isn't great.
Just finished a last joy ride followed by a car wash. Going under the cover today for the winter.

I think my car was trying to tell me something. My odometer when I stopped it for the season was 99699 :-)

First picture was before the snow fell. The second picture was just before I stopped the car for winter.

I just ordered one as well. We live in the country and mice are a constant. My solution on the 951 is to leave the hood up when parked in the garage. That doesn't work with a Boxster!
