I'd like to applaud your collective efforts! I was an administrator on another board until I recently resigned after 8 years in the driver's seat. 99% of members on bulletin boards throughout the web don't understand how difficult it is to manage and moderate a bulletin board while keeping a solid balance.

Those who will be quick to comment negatively won't have an accurate understanding of the magnitude of the problems BB admins face, sometimes daily, and sometimes with very real and very legal implication. I think Rennlist has done well to provide many avenues for community participation. Political & Religious categories are always going to create the biggest challenges, and have been removed on other bulletin boards because of the difficulty in managing them. Rennlist has done a good job of providing the balance needed. However, any site is only as good as its membership, and sometimes the weeds have to be pulled from the lawn, in order to keep it "green".

Volunteering for admin/moderation of an internet website community can be a part time job with no pay and little appreciation. Thank you all for trying to keep the Rennlist machine well oiled and running.

Merry Christmas moderators. I am a mod on a different site, so it's really fun giving you folks the needle.
Have a great holiday.

Optimumforums.org. We are a detailing site. There's lots of great info. It's owned by Anthony Orosco. Come on over. We have a large number of both pro and amatuer detailers.

DIRTY SANCHEZ!!!

Nah, Seriously, after 8 years of explaining to users why I was having to ban them (The board I was an admin on was MUCH more restrictive in user conduct), I only need to rewind the memory to get insight into what the staff here are currently dealing with...

OK, Enough Arse kissing!

Mike

what kind of public forum is this that we cannot voice our own political opinions or stand proud of our beliefs with a statement in signatures or avatars? it seems like IB is trying to confine our beliefs to just OT. certainly, OT is the forum for discussion of such things but what is the problem with openly declaring political affiliation?

in addition, trying to limit language is a pointless endeavour; with the argument being "dont post something you wouldnt want your grandmother or 4 year old reading", let me say that my grandmother is a much angrier and verbose person than myself and that by the time those kids reach the second grade they will be saying worse things than you will read here. personally if someone has a serious problem with the occasionally dropped "f-bomb" or other such word they should reanalyze themselves and loosen up a bit.

Mods are getting a bit trigger happy around here. I don't really think IB enters into it.

I hadn't thought of that - I assumed at the back, but when I think about it, it doesn't actually matter.
