If we lose our license to post, can we take a 'safe posting class' and be given a temporary posting permit? hehehe

As far as avatars go, does this mean that the guy with the Oklahoma Sooner Girl avatar has to change it? If so, I will miss her...

Geez, David . . . blow the whistle on the guy why don't ya? I'm sure that if he has a bad avatar, someone eventually will come across it and he'll get a fair and polite warning.

Speaking of avatars . . . that's (David) one of the weirdest ones I've seen to date. It's like . . . umm . . . a shark-plane-sub?

I understand the need to be a member to post a "For Sale" but surely 'users' can post a WTB??
They're not making a profit they are trying to spend money, and maybe benifit a site sponsor or a paying member.

Otherwise there goes the "Hey Guys, Where's the best place to get a..............." thread.

I've never been offended by anything I have seen or read here, but as far as the PG rating goes,,,,,, you blokes should seriously have a look at OT.

Psycho if you read the guidelines at the topof the forum,OT allows more PG content since it is a Members Only forum.
Best

Bob, Thanks for the reply. I fully understand the guidelines, what I don't understand is why?
How can paying for membership allow access to a more restricted level of adult content...............on a Porsche Forum?

Secondly, what's the harm in 'Users' posting a Wanted to Buy?

Regards

Frank - there is nothing wrong with a "where can I get the best deal on a ...".

Users are prevented from posting for sale or WTB for example "need wheels for my 993 TT". I have always thought this was a bit odd myself, since it would benefit members, but, I don't make the rules. besides, membership is cheap.

With respect to OT - it is a forum generally unrelated to Porsche Technical content and visitors know that the language therein is more uh, colorful. I find it interesting that many of the people who post in OT do not participate in the technical forums.

Best,

It is OK to have some limitations and restrictions on content. I think we are all adults here and anyone who doesn't use some kind of profanity has obviously never actually worked on a Porsche. Some of my choicest words and phrases were learned from fellow mechanics and used effectively to diagnose and repair all kinds of cars.

...I wish to protest in the strongest possible terms the exclusion of Sooner Girl as she represents much that is clean and Wholesome in America.

..Drug references...Although amusing...May not be all that appropriate unless the true intent is inform the community as to the problems that arise when one tries to perform repairs while impaired. Perhaps this forum should implement a policy as to posting while under the influence. (PUI)

Is there anything wrong with putting a "For Sale" in my signature line? Not thinking of writing a classified ad down there or anything, i was just thinking it'd give the car more exposure.

Thank you to Rennlist. I have been concerned about the avatars that are not remotely auto-related and also the offhanded comments about spouses (of either gender by either gender). So I have not stopped by as much as I used to.
