Hey Rennlisters,

Does anybody in the Ottawa area know this 996 for sale at Mark Motors?

I drove it last weekend at it felt great, but I have nothing really to compare it to. Would be interested in knowing more about the history of the car.

Apparently originally purchased by a doctor, who traded it in to upgrade, and the 2nd owner was a gentleman living in Dunrobin, who then also traded it into the dealer.

Nope. Never saw it at club events.

When I was looking for my car (a year and a half ago), I got the impression that Mark was finished with selling 996s. I don't know why I feel this, probably because they make more money on cars they can CPO, but it might be a very intangible sign that they will stand behind this car (understanding that it has no warranty or oblilagations).

I notice that the dash shows almost 2000km more than the ad. Makes me wonder why. Not that there's anything suspicious about it, but it might indicate that the car has been'listed' on their books for a while. IDK.

If you are test driving... come and see my 996. It is listed here and on the various internet sites... there is a Rennlist/PCA discount.

Thanks for the responses guys, I'm still "fishing" ... was more curious about the MM 996 than anything.

fbgh2o if I start looking seriously at 996's yours is definitely near the top of my list. I've really got my heart set on a good air-cooled model (3.2 or 964).

if you are looking air cooled 993 is pretty sweet, thought I did love my 87 3.2.

that said the car Fergus has is a lot of bang for the buck. My wife said, 'if your Saab blew up today, that would be the perfect replacement"
I replied, "I am driving the Saab to work, have you seen my helmet?"
