Thanks, I was told about the bricking part, the issue I am having is that the "new" key I got looks old, has visible wear and some scratches. So they either gave me a refurbished key as a replacement...

Thanks! I don't have a problem with fixing the old key but on the paperwork it says that it was replaced with a new one and the SA insisted in was a new key. It is a matter of trust, really.

Thanks! The "new" key has the same date code as the older one, what are the odds? I guess without a serial number easily identifiable there is no way to tell for sure.
