The shop added a new power harness and that fixed the issue. It think I had a short when the bumper cover was repainted.

Update: Bought a new cluster from 92 968 and swapped it into my 90 944. Here are some pointers for anyone with a broken odometer reading this:

1. If it's just the odometer, I'd not fix it....

Instrumentation panel went bad

Took the instrumentation panel to fix the odometer gear. When putting the cluster back into the dash, none of the needles move, there is no light except the left.

You can also open the bleed valve to let out the pressure and fluid to get the pistons to retract. Brake fluid is corrosive so get a clear hose when you bleed or flush the fluid into a bottle

I had a similar issue where all the side markers and taillights were out. It happened after the bumper was taken off.

I ended up taking it to a shop. They pulled a new wire to the front side...

Lube the door handle, handle cables, window tracks, door lock latch with wd40 or grease. I replaced the lock connecting rod and handle cables when they broke.

I use whatever is the freshest and cheapest, Costco. In ur case, I think no ethanol is better especially if u don’t drive it much.

shell gave me misfire once. I no longer buy the name brand thing....

The fuse blows when I turn on the parking light. With parking light off, the fuse is tested fine so I think there is power.

i pulled the fuse box up and don’t see any loose or burnt wires

One parking light is not getting power. Using a circuit tracer, the harness appears to hv connectivity back to fuse box. Any idea why power is not going to that light?

The hazard works on all corners, including the signals and taillights. So, I am leaning towards a head light switch failure. It is not a common failure though.

Under braking, tail lights do work...

i have all the fog lights, side markers, tail lights inspected. Wiring is all corrected but still...
