In the future, you should consider looking on Ebay and rennlist for parts. There are lots of perfectly good used parts out there at a fraction the price of new ones.

I converted th car to use Audi TT wipers, which are about 1/2" lower, but its not nearly as clean as removing them entirely. So far, they work very nicely.
