+1 on CTEK hard wired leads to the terminals.

Then you can plug and unplug easily.

Plus the plug only fits on way around so preventing wrong polarity.

Sorry but this describes a car that's not been taken care of. Just because the current owner is decent doesn't mean prior (probably multiple) owners were. If the aesthetics look bad the mechanicals...

Brake fluid every 2-3.
It's stored with 98 octane (non-ethanol) petrol which is also treated with large amounts of stabiliser.
Petrol is also drained and replaced...

42,400 miles.
Battery on ctek maintainer and still strong
Car started immediately...
