I don't think it is the oil. My 2008 C2S shows 1.5 at idle when hot. I use Mobil 1 0W40. It is likely the gauge is not calibrated or the bypass.

That's the same thing that was said about IMS failures and we know that is not true.

My experience does not match up with what you've heard. My 2008S is a "garage queen" with 39K miles...

A flat tire! At least it was noticed while at home.
