Try heat as well. Have a neighbour hold the flame from a propane torch on the bolt as you apply force with your "elongated" breaker bar. That should work too, especially if the previous mechanic used...

You should drain the oil and look for metal filings. If it is a rod bearing you are only damaging your engine more every time you turn it over.
