It looks to me like its the temp probe for the freeze stat that cuts the compressor out if the coil freezes. It just sticks into the evap coil a few inches .You'll probably want to keep it. :thumbup:

1-170 5-170
2-146 6-160
3-155 7-165
4-170 8-165
