Where is the oil leak?

My 968 has an oil leak as shown in the pics below. The bracket sits below the oil filter, and it looks like the oil comes from the rear of the bracket and moves down to the front of the bracket...

Yes, I was lucky. Still worried about potential damage to the threads in the oil pan though. Do you think it is a good idea to heat the drain plug with a heat gun first?

On the (in)famous Nurburgring Nordschleife the 2006 Turbo beat the 2009 Turbo by 9 seconds a lap, does anybody have a clue as to why? The newer car has 20 more horses and 35 pounds less weigth.
