I read your post as moving parts from the 997 steering wheel into the 987 steering wheel. Is that correct?
Why don't you bolt the newer 997 wheel into the 987?

I flash the DME back to factory tune, but kept the high flow cats see if the cats will trigger...

I can't speak for 987.2 (owners to verify), but on my 987.1, the header bolt/exhaust manifold bolts are 8 X 26 mm w/extended hex head, part# 999-075-074-00-M100. Torque spec is the same @ 17ft-lbs....

In actuality, I remember seeing the wheelbase & track measurements between the R8 and the Cayman (also Boxster) are within an inch or two... So, size wise, they're about the same size.
