I replaced the clutch fan on my '86 a year or two ago and used a temperature switch spliced in the upper radiator hose to trigger the relays for it. That location is less than ideal for a cooling fan...

Mine pulls close to 25 at idle, it was around 20 before I found the leak on the TB. I have also much simplified the vacuum system though.

Maybe this isn't normal?

My tach sticks sometimes when I first start driving. Usually it fixes itself whenever the car rev above 2500 or so. Otherwise a "tap" on the side of the pod frees it. This is not a super rare issue...
