Default bosch regulator source???

Hi All,

I've done a bunch of searching on this forum and the internet in general but have had no luck.

Does anyone know where I can buy a regulator without buying a whole new alternator? I took the regulator off the back of my alternator and the Bosch number on the unit is:
F 00M 145 209

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I figure if I can save a couple of hundred bucks on this I'll probably go ahead and reward myself with a cool mod.

Thanks,
Bruce

This might help.

The Transpro IB225 replaces several Bosch regulators, including yours. But they sell to rebuilders unless a local supplier will sell you one. http://www.wai-wetherill.com/home.cfm http://www.wai-wetherill.com/product...?wai_num=IB225

Let me know if you find a retail place for that Transpro regulator.

Wow, Thanks a ton.

I saw the post about the Dubai Boxster but didn't look deeply enough. Thanks for pointing me back there. I should be able to get a hold of one with this info! I'll try the transpro but I also have a friend that works at a Mercedes Dealership so that too might be my connection.

I'll be sure to let you know how it works out.

Thanks,
Bruce

Did a serch for the IB225 and found ESC supply co. in Portand. They have it in their catalog for $21. I'll be giving them a call Monday morning.

Thanks again,
Bruce

Found what I think is the same thing in the Mercedes flavor on ebay for $24.50 plus $8 shipping. Ask the seller for the part number to verify.

Either way, if the problem is just the regulator then you will save $$$. I have been looking for a low cost alternative since there have been a few messages on the boards about just the regulator going bad.

I checked with the ebay dealer too. He said that the one that was listed was not correct, but he did have the right one, $50 + $10 shipping.

I ended up buying from a dealer in Boston (Boston Auto electric). I'll let you know how it turns out, thanks again.
