Post Nor-Cal get together (lets set the date)

i guess that the dyno option has been the reason we have been delaying this event and it doesn't seem like it is what everyone will be doing the whole saturday. I am not going to use the dyno but i do want to get together to see/meet people and enjoy a nice little drive...
since I was planning for this to happen this coming weekend (9/7) anyway, would we like to get together this saturday? How about 9:30 in saratoga(downtown?) again, like last year. this year there shouldn't be all that debis on the road from the storm the night before... any takers? if not lets just set a date to meet and lets do it before the crumy weather comes in....

Ok, let's meet at the usual place, the gas-station on the corner of Saratoga, Big Basin and Saratoga-Los Gatos: 14395 Big Basin Way. I think it's a BP station now, used to be a 76.

How planning to meet in the afternoon at say... 1pm? That way the folks who are doing the dyno-session in the morning can join in on the Pizza Run too!

Early afternoon sounds good if we can get on a dyno. Danno, someone suggested Rennworks in Mountain View for a dyno shop in the previous thread. Number's listed as well, have a chance to call them up?

I'm planning on being there. Let me know if the dyno becomes a reality, I still want to get mine checked out. Just don't trust the A/F gauge.

"someone suggested Rennworks in Mountain View for a dyno shop in the previous thread. Number's listed as well, have a chance to call them up?"

Yup, talked to them first thing this morning. They have to check their schedule because the guy wasn't sure if they had some PRC event planned for that day. Also put in a call to the guy at Dyno Spot Racing and they'll have to check with their crew (usually aren't open on Sat.).

I think in both these cases, they have to be convinced that enough people would show up to make it worth their while to open up the shop. So who's game? I've got the following people & cars:

- GURU Racing test car (aiming for 300lb-ft/300rwhp w/ stock turbo)
- Steve Cooper
- Vince Griffith
- Bill Alaimo
- Trevor G96
- DanD
- Tom M'Guin
-???

I think if we get a minimum of 10-15, we'll get the Dyno Spot Racing shop for sure.

"Danno you can pick up the tranny too if you still want it..."

Really? I just wanted the 5th gear for my 200mph salt-flats assault. But if you're gonna give the whole tranny too, I'll take it! Can you post a photo of that shattered R&P again? I didn't get a chance to save it last time!

UPDATE - WE HAVE A DYNO SHOP !!!!

I got the following message from Dyno Spot Racing: [quote]Hi Dan,

We can do it this Sat for 5-7 cars. The cost is $85 per car for standard baselines (2-5) runs and $100/car for the same but with A/F measurement($25 savings). For the before and after cars, we can offer $125/car, so, you save $75/car if you use A/F measurement before and after.

If you are interested, contact us ASAP so I can tell my employees. Also, if you are interested in chips, we have them. Tell us the cars in advance and I can burn some. I personally will be out of town this weekend :-(

DC

So let's plan on meeting at the dyno-shop at 9am Saturday morning. We'll put Steve & Vince's cars on first to get baseline runs and pull them off to install our MAP-sensor kits. In the meantime, anyone else can dyno their cars. After we're done with the installs (30-minutes each), we'll put the cars back on for an 'after' pull to gauge upgrade improvements. Then we'll all head over to the Union-76 station in Saratoga for the PIZZA RUN !!!

Here's a map to 1798 Angela Street, San Jose (south). See y'all Saturday morning !!!

The dyno-shop guy left me a message saying 9:30am would be better. In order to accomodate everyone who wants to get on the dyno, let's set up a schedule so that we can complete on time to make it to the Pizza Run:

9:00 - Arrive and get ready (who's bringing coffee & donuts?)
9:30 - put Steve's car on dyno
9:40 - do two baseline runs on Steve's car (then take off to install Stage-2 MAP kit)
9:45 - put Vince's car on dyno
9:55 - do two baseline runs on Vince's car (then take off to install Stage-1 MAP kit)
10:00 - Car #3
10:20 - Car #4
10:40 - Car #5
11:00 - Car #6
11:20 - Car #7
11:40 - put Steve's car back on and do an 'after' run, fine-tune as needed
11:55 - put Vince's car back on and do an 'after' run, fine-tune as needed
12:15 - wrap up runs and pay dyno shop
12:30 - take off to Saratoga to meet the others

Those of you who want to get on the dyno, please pick spots #3-7. See ya!!!

Consider me dynoed and paid for the 10 o'clock strap-down! I got an e-mail from another 968 owner on the peninsula today who wishes to dyno as well. I linked him to all the info so he'll either post himself or reply to my e-mail with a definite yes or no. This is gonna be fun!

Man you guys have got your act together.

Inspiring, I kinda wish I lived 500 miles north of where I do, . . . but just kinda at this point. I will be under my car (and my wifes) thinking about you. Please let the board know your results - who ate the most pizza of course. Oh, and dyno #'s too if it comes to mind.

I'll take the 11am. Although I hope to be there earlier.

Danno, Do you (or someone) have a 3 bar Fuel Presssure regulator? I suspect that mine is one of those that falls into the 100% injector duty cycle. I need a quick fix until I lay out the big bucks for injectors and turbo.

I should be showing up with this...
86 951 stock engine and turbo.
K&N cone intake, HR MAF Stage I (upgraded to III), custom intercooler hard pipes, ARC II fuel controller, ARM1 air/fuel meter, AutoThority Stage II chips, APEXi AVC-R electronic boost controller, shimmed wastegate, free flowing PowerEffect adjustable muffler. Autopower rollbar, 400# front Koni adjustable shocks, 300# rear(Hal/QA1) + 25.5mm torsion bars, aggressive track alignment. << How does 2.5 degrees camber work on a dyno??

Thanks,

What if we meet at the Dyno Shop instead of the gas station. That way people won't be standing around wondering how much longer, should we be delayed by some red 951...

Just a thought. It only looks to be a couple miles away (maybe 7-10 miles?).
