Default tial issue (dyno runs inside)

well here's the the bad news first:

for whatever reason the new tial wategate is making the boost oscillate a HUGE amount. 10-22 psi somewhat rapidly.
we were having problems with the electronic boost controller but we bypassed the controller by using the hose directly from the intake to the tial. it still oscillated.
I have never heard or seen of anything like this.

any ideas?

also when I went hard aroung a corner the car vibrated like the exhaust (new sfr stainless steel 3" exhaust) was was hitting or being pushed by something (it made the whole car vibrate and was loud)
like maybe the new exhaut wasn't flexing properly??

is there anyway to stop my heatshield from vibrating?
I heard it a little bit on the drive home.

and for some reason the tial worked for a bit in the beginning but not now.

so here is the good news:

this thing growls like a freaking wolf ready to rip out a ferrari's jugular!!!
it is definitely not too loud either

I have soo much torque now it's freakin rediculous.

(if anyone knows how to post the pics directly it would be greatly appreciated!)

That is an impressive dyno, what all do you have done to the car, and how much boost were you making to hit 350rwhp? Make sure you have the wastegate in oriented properly- the Tial should actually be in BACKWARD if you were to compare it to the stock wastegate. I had this problem for a long time- turned the WG around, and presto, problem solved

I think it hit 22-24 psi (which is a stupid amount)

I wasn't there so I don't know for sure.

did your boost oscillate when it was installed backward?
I'm doubting it's that since it was installed by a 951 mechanic.
and he is very familiar how tial has a diff setup.

upgrades:

kkk27/6 turbo
auto authority maf
pro m maf tuner
fabspeed exhaust
tial 38 mm wastegate
3 bar fpr
55 lb injectors
weltmeister chips

I know I'm forgetting stuff but I can't think right now!

Thats the weirdest thing I've ever seen a WG do.
The plot with the osc. thats with the EBC removed??

I think you probaly have loctite on the stem of the WG and its binding.
It will stick shut untill it gets enough pressure to SLAM open, instead of a gradual opening. And after you loose all your boost it slams shut.
I would remove the WG. take the head apart and clean the stem.

My Tial was so bad it wouldn't even open untill I stripped it apart and cleaned it.
I think their QC has been slipping lately.

An easy test:
When the car is off, remove the line that goes to your WG, apply a 0-10psi gradually increasing air signal and listen to the WG, You should be able to hear it quietly slide open. If you hear nothing untill you hit a high psi, and then SLAM. You know what to do.

Not AS drastic, but this is with just a turbo and wastegate, no other mods.

oh, I didn't see it worked, but now it doesn't.
In that case I'd say bad wastegate.

Perhaps it's hitting the overboost?

That Tial is on backwards - at least assume it is and make sure you take a look at it yourself before you motor grenades.

If it is installed properly, the valve should be connected to the x-over pipe. Also recheck the lines going to it. It's easy to get them mixed up.

Apply pressure as jason suggested. The exhaust assists in about 4 psi of opening pressure so if you have a .8 bar spring, it should begin to open at about 16 psi of applied pressure with the car not running.

Hitting the surge limit of the compressor maybe? Thats the only thing I've seen that causes boost to do that....

Surge limit?? Do you mean that the hot side is spinning faster than the intake side can pull in air? Like how a pump cavitates when it can't get enough water or is sucking air?
