I have 2002 C4S. RMS and intermediate shaft seal were replaced at 11,000 miles. I have 15,500 now. No signs of more leakage at this point. The eccentricity of the crankshaft area in th block was checked. I am told it is within tolerances and this should be the only seal failure since being replaced with the updated version.

'01 C2. RMS replaced at ~12,500, before I bought the car. Asked the dealer and they said it was definitely "within tolerance," therefore just replaced.

Flaw in the poll?
You might want to change it so for each mileage row you can check one of two columns: "RMS Fail" or "No RMS Fail" That way you will see what % of cars at each mileage (or km) break had RMS problems.

I'm afraid to vote "no rms" because that means I'll get one within a week or two...
