Alex- those look great. How did you paint them? Also how did you get the "porsche" on them? Thanks in advance.

Luke- didn't we just go thru this on another trend. If my memory serves me correct I had to chill everyone out!!! "can't we all just get along"
Thanks for the decal info.

Default "big reds"

The cost was about $30 for the paint; $24 for the decals and my mechanic's time about 3 hours of labor ($195). He took the calipers off. Not necassary, but I wanted to make sure the job looked professional. I had considered buying big reds but decided that they weren't necassary yet. This was a cost effective alternative.

by the way, I was going to powder coat them the way Robin Sun had done. When I called trhe company he used, they told me it would be a2 - 3 week wait. I decided painting was a better alternative.

Agro1 - if memory serves me correctly, you got in a pretty serious flame contest in the past (Like your weak avatar that you were called out on). personally I thought your comment about "small red" was pretty funny. I wonder if you mention "say it ain't so" to Dan because you can't believe he would say something positive about painted calipers. If that is the case, I think you should leave your comments "at the door." The purpose of my post was simply to show others on this site that there is an alternative to "big reds". The alternative certainly isn't performance oriented. It is purely aesthetic - and the wonderful thing about aesthetics is that they truly are in eye of the beholder.

Alex/akolodesh,

Very nice! Looks like quality job! Next time I'm painting mine, I'm buying the decals like you did. I preserved my old ones by just masking them. Here's a pix when I was working on them.

My comment, again, is my opinion which I am entitled to - whether you like it or not.

So was your comment about my avatar your opinion or was that just a comment?? I suggest you take heed of your own advice about "leaving comments at the door". Hey, I think red brakes look great, as do yours. If you are insecure that someone out there does not agree with your aesthetic upgrades, well I don't know what to tell you - get over it.

My comment to Dan was in no way meant to detract from how good your calipers "look" but moreso in the hope that he would not follow suit.

Then why make the comment above re: big reds, in CAPS nontheless ?? You "alternative" seems more like an imitation. But hey, enjoy them, they do "look" very good.

To all, there is no need to go back an forth with each other. Luke (agro1) was just giving me Sh-t (and I know it) and I was just giving him some. It's all in good fun. What do they say "opinions are like a--holes everyone got one."
