Chuck Z-Lots of surfing. Luckily a lot of 928 owners also have their toys on their web sites/pages. Ebay has a lot too, but always check for Porsche to be mispelled - Porche. Thanks for the link, Villhuer. Seems to be quite a few Euro models I left out. I will try to get them added in. I ran across the Schuco R/C model (the exact same as the larger Radio Shack model, just a different brand name) for $355.00 USD. Being as they sometimes go for less than $20.00 on Ebay, I doubt it will sell anytime soon.

A very interesting list! Thanks for compiling it! I'd have to check, but there is a chance I have a few items in my own collection that you did not catch - stuff from other ends of the world, or things that don't show-up very often.
There are lots more variations of this model - the Personal Collection was available in black/black and silver/black for a while, and they were also available as regular models (no special detailing, no display box).
Also, there was a pace car in the display box, and an very exclusive mini series with an airbrush motif on both the model and the socket of the display box. In addition, there were a few other exclusive ones done by artists.
Before they made the S4, they had a 928 and a 928S; towards the end of production, these came with phone dial wheels.
I have very small quantities of the Herpa 928S, the silver personal collection, the pace car, and the art collection available. Some are listed in my store at www.hookedoncars.com, but not all. Email me, or see my vendor booth at the Sharktoberfest!

The BBurago 1.43 scale is pretty accurate....except for the cheesy wheels.
There are plenty still out there.
A little 'hobbying' can make them look pretty good.

Wish they put LSD on the RC car instead of solid axle.
I see a nice silver metallic spray paint ready for the interior of that

An impressive list!
I have one small correction for you: The Motormax 1:24 is a 1987 S4, not a 1986. And beside black, silver, and red it also came in blue - I have about half a dozen of them in all.

There are also some 928s in the no-name generic toy car collector sets - the ones that come in sets of 50 or 100, from Wal-Mart or discount chains. They even lool like GTS's as the rears are flared. Also, how about a 928 telephone? This one's from the 80's, red, flat dish wheels, from Radio Shack I think. I'm a proud owner of this 928 phone.
