HAHA
Well a poor kid can dream right?.............If only.
Had the opportunity to see a 959 being converted to pass emmissions regulations today. Pretty rare, being in TX. The rear bumper and undertrays were off so I got to see all the goodies.
What an honor it was to see one of the cars that has inspired me so greatly.
Here are the pics:
Exterior-
Single lug wheels with lock in the center

Interior- Interesting center console.
Goodies-
Passenger side cooler/turbo.
HUGE!!!! wastegate.
Drivers side. Cute wastegate muffler.
Insanely hard to access oil filter. Porsche did however have an oil drain access are instead of making the owner remove all the paneling like on the 993.
I found this really interesting in light of the SAI problems in the 993. Here is the SAI system added on and plumbed into the turbo manifolds.

Suspension with active control.
Transmission. Has a cooler built in.
Front brake ducting.
New fuel pumps.
Huge cooling line for the water cooled heads/turbochargers.
Airbox.
I have a bunch more pics if any of you guys wanna see a specific area.

Very Cool!! Thanks for sharing. I have a few pics of the guts of a 959 while at Andial.
I must say that car looks pretty grimy for only 11k miles..
You know the saying....I wouldn't kick her out of the garage for leakin' oil..

Guys guys guys. You all sound like concourse people. The grime on the suspesnion components is probably a combination of raod grime from running high speed on Autobahn and cosmoline + dont forget its almost 20 years old and regardless of the Kms if it hasnt seen a sympathetic resotoration its probably just ahowing a bit of age.
I think it looks prety good all over and Im a bit of a concours guy myself - just needs some "elbow greese" to quote a phraze my mom used to use!

btw: i kinda' like that it's dirty... seems to be driven .

Princeton, Thanks for the pictures.
Amazing to see how ahead of its time this car was, the intercooler design being used by the 996TT and GT2 with very short path to the turbos and also, that header design is still being used by the GT3RS as well 15 years later, great flow, no equal length headers.
I am sure you will be using some of these ideas while building your turbo system
Thanks

24FPS - Yeah I like em dirty too
Jean - My intercooler placement was directly influenced by the design of the 959.
I must say the log style header design is quite archaic tho.
