Default Homelink Retrofit Kit? Who's Interested?

Hey Guys,

How many of you would be interested in a Homelink Retrofit Kit? I think I can produce the kits for about $349 complete...with NO CUTTING OR SPLICING of the OEM wiring.

Just as an FYI...the control module from Porsche for Homelink is over $400 for JUST the module...plus you still need to buy the Buttons, Switch Plate, and Switch Control.

If there is enough interest...I'll make them available for sale.

Thanks,

Parag

So no one's interested? I'm suprised. It's been one of the best things I installed in my Cayenne, I'm actually VERY surprised that it's not standard on all Cayennes!

Is this the 3 button one that fits on the visor? Or is it similar to the OE version that has the buttons near the light controls? How easy is it to install?

You could probably do a hack much like my 996 one...just need to find the right button for the swtich. There is an empty slot next to the PSM button or on that row of buttons. I've been meaning to do it, but have gotten lazy. Total cost should be under $75.

I'll take one - tired of the big clunky clicker on the sun visor.

Sorry about the delay.

The kit installs overhead identical to the OEM one, the fit and function are also identical.

The price will be about $349 - Unlike the $495 Euro Price ($660+ US) option from another company.

As far as electronics, I have extensive experience with BMW Electronics.

There are 2 different ways to install it.

1. Garage Door Opener is always on - Installation is fully done overhead with 1 splice for power.
2. Garage Door Opener is ONLY on when the key is turned on - must run a wire down the A Pillar to the Fuse Box. ($25 More)

I would like to get at least 5 people who would like to purchase this before I go ahead and make these in volume.

I still don't understand how it works that you can buy a Chevy and get a Garage Door Opener, but when I purchased my $70K Porsche it doesn't have one!

Thanks,

Parag
