Porsche Cars Australia are on to the recall, and have ordered the bits needed for my cab, in an order for 15 other cars...

nile, my car too suffered the same problem with the tansmission mounts - before I owned it though, so not sure what side... according to the invoice, the mounting panel had to be repaired at a cost of AU$600.

Just spoke with Rusnak Pasadena. They are aware of the recall but do not have parts. They said owners would be notified by mail (from PCNA I assume) and that would be the time to make an appointment.

Now if we could only convince Porsche that the CEL/SAI issue could cause our wheels to fall off or something like that then we might get a recall to fix the valve guides as well.

Default Anyone think I can get a refund for work I already did?

Now I'm kicking myself EVEN more for selling by cab.
Does anyone here think it's even worthwhile seeing whether Porsche will reimburse me for having to replace the front two locking motors before I sold the car. That was a pretty big chunk of change. I was getting the standard clicking sound from the right motor and couldn't get the dash warning light to turn off until I replaced both front locking motors.

Parts arrived at all dealers in Germany last week, and the local Centers have started with the replacement work (takes a few hours only). But there was an delay with the delivery of the parts - initially, Porsche was hoping to start the replacement as of 3 Jan, but then had to postpone.

Mine's done, all fine - having said that, I never had a problem in the first place.

Alex, doubt you will have any luck with that one. Porsche is keen to stress there is no real problem with the parts, merely a precautionary measure. Which is a bit of a euphemism, as I also know 2 guys who have had interesting experiences on the autobahn with their roof opening... Still, you might as well try, the legal situation tends to be different in the US from Europe in many cases.

I just called Rick at Rusnack Thousand Oaks, he is going to check to see if it has shown up on their Porsche Recall web site. I'll post the results.

UPDATE: Rusnack Thousand Oaks confirms the recall as an "A504 Recall" whatever that means. He has ordered the parts for me and will advise when to bring the car in for the repair.

Thanks to the originator of this thread for bringing this to our attention. and to John and Jen and the Rennlist members for making this site available

UPDATE v 1.1:

Recall A502 completed today.
Parts list:

Are these the part numbers and descriptions that coincide with your recall repairs?

Why would they only replace 1 motor??
The pins, I'm sure are the shorter pins that would protect from pearcing teh roof when it's folded.

yep... targa roof pin....(more like a peg really!)

Its the same part number on the top section of the targa (to locate it into the windshield frame) as is used on the convertible top to also locate the top into the windshield frame.

Actually the part is described (in PET) as a "long bolt".

Reminds me that I need to call Walters in Riverside tomorrow and schedule mine...

The WSJ and prior posts said Porsche was replacing both top motors, why just one?

Others who have had this done should chime in with comparative data, I didn't think I was the first to have it done. Posting part numbers is a Rennlist tradition, I'm just doing my part.
