Its a narrowbody 997, it just looks wide due to the hips and the angle. 997 looks wider even than a 996C4S in real life.

The rear shot with the light falling on the rear fenders make it look more broad hipped than the standard car. I'm just not sure if it's real or a trick of the light without another 997 next to it.

While not scientific, maybe someone could mimic the shots using their own car. At least then we could get a better sense of how wide it really is.

The wheels look like nothing I've seen from Porsche on a 997. Perhaps they are the 997 replacement for "turbo wheel". I really like the simplicity of these wheels & would have chosen them over the Carrera S wheels on my car had they been available. New wheel leads me to believe... new model. Probably 997 C4.

I just look at a comparison shot of my S and that car above and I see no difference.

I just did a little measure/comparision with the pics against my 997 Cs..

The car as shown is wider... however there seems to be a little asymmetry going on ??

I matched-up the distance between the edges of the license plates... and did the measurements as shown...

The left of the car is different... wider than the right side !

So, either there is some "lens" distortion in the camera or.... ?

well, draw your own conclusions ??

Here is the pic... compared to my 997... make your own minds up ??

(hope the pic attchment works, havent tried posting pics here for a while )

...seen walking away from the 997 wide-body...

sorry could not help myself; Nice job Bitsa on the pic comparo. The more I look at it, it does look wider, a bit more sheet metal extending convex out from the forward points of the taillights, & rear quarters' overall shape look more squared.

You people crack me up! I admit the pictures are terrible, but I drive a 997. I know what a 997 looks like, and that car, sir, was no regular 997! I know the car I saw was wider, plus the folks at the dealership knew what it was.
