Yup! 243hp 968 variocam engine - WITH a 6spd 968 gearbox as well!!!! Faster than a stock non-s 944 turbo!!!!!!!

(engine bay photos posted above for those who posted too quickly to see it..)

Yes, those are 245's tucked under the narrow body fender!!!

notice how he managed to fit the turbo valence under there too!!! wowzers!

We were in the same run group, but he was half way 'round the track by the time I got on track. After 25 minutes of lapping, he was still on the other side of the track.

A guy in a 996 was so frustrated he stomped over and demanded to see under the hood! LOL.

If anyone is interested in doing a conversion using a S engine, I have one that I will be selling with all parts needed to convert from 8v to 16v including the clutch.
