Default Ever seen a 4 LUG phone dial? Strange....

There is a 924 on ebay with these 4 lug phone dial wheels and I have never seen them before. I didn't think they even made them. BTW I am not affiliated with the car or owner.

Weird!

It's a very early car...looks like it has VW hubs and a 4x100 bolt pattern, but I don't know why. Strange!

Very odd. That car looks nice for an early 924 though!

My guess is that they are phone dail copies.

Note the states they are "upgraded" (newer than 78) wheels.

No such thing as 4 bold Porsche phone dail.

Does the black inside the engine bay mean that this car was repainted and used to be black, or were all early 924s like this?

I have a feeling this poor guy is going to be disappointed at what people are willing to pay for that car.

"Old car price guide values this car in #1 condition at $14,500 for a collector. I figure this car is in #2 condition which they say is $12,500."

4x108 - there is debate if they are factory or not. I'm pretty sure they are copies.

This are oryginal rims. I have seen them lots of times on euro spec 924s. Couple of my friends has this rims on their 924s.

Back in the 80s ATS (maker of the 944 Phone Dials IIRC) used to make Phone Dials for other cars as well. I have an old D&W (German "tuning" company) catalog somewhere with photos of them on a variety of cars.

edit: I too suspect a repaint

The hood on it looks a different color than the rest of the car, the headlight gaps suck, and the fender gaps are uneven. Also, I'm pretty sure the engine bay should be the same color as the rest of the vehicle. I suspect something a little fishy with this car.

For the 4 bolt wheels, I have seen PD's on a few old Golf's with 4 bolt patterns as well, so I know there was an aftermarket for them at some point.

I saw some 4 lug phone dials at Hershey saturday, but didn't get a chance to look if they were OE or aftermarket
