Unhappy White smoke on track day

What a weekend!

Went on a track weekend in Germany. Did 3 laps everything was fine

Took a break for about 20 mins and then back on the track.

All of a sudden power just stopped and I came to a stop.

White smoke started coming out of one of the exhaust pipes and coolant was leaking on the floor.

Any idea what this could be? Gasket?? Water condenser??? New engine ????

Not sure whether to get it fixed in Germany or bring it back to the UK. (Just had a major service done as well) My 996 is a 99 year and C2.

Any advice appreciated....

Advise: whatever it is, repair it in Germany unless you have a good P-car specialist in UK. The prices are lower in Germany due to exchage rate. Whatever it is it doesn't sound good though. I'd put my money on a catastrophic gasket failure or a cracked head/valve or cilinder lining...

Yeah I think I will bring it back to the UK and use a Porsche specialist.

Just spoken to them now. They think its a blown engine but cant confirm.

White smoke from the exhaust? Is that happening only at track events? Did some water cooled component fail, such as a hose or clamp? Did you see anitfreeze below?

there is not much you can do....

make sure your decide if it is better to spend money repairing your engine rather than buying a second hand unit which in reality will cost you including installation about half money of those spend to repair it.....

repairing yours, you should get warranty as well.....

it is hard to say but, it is time to put your hand deep in your pocket....

sh*t happens and i am really sorry about it....

you could try neil beinbridge, a very good mechanic near bicester.....
