Default Aero Kit 996

This board has been a valuable resource in the search for my 996, thank you.

I am interested in installing the aero kit for my car (minus the wing); what does the kit consist of? I am aware of the sideskirts, but does the entire front bumper need to be replaced, or a front spoiler that attaches to the bottom of the existing bumper?

Thanks,

Mike

New front bumper cover. Fairly easy to replace yourself.

99-01 Aero kit has new front bumper (GT3 style), side skirts, rear "GT" fins, and either the taco wing (ala GT3) or the "Carrera" wing. Just depends on which set up you prefer. I only did the GT3 front and side skirts. Didn't care for the "GT" fins nor the rear carerra wing. Front spoiler can be had as low as $800 or so on eBay if you are patient, and side skirts between $5-600. Painting would be close to around $600-$1000 depending on quality and where you go.

I had the aero kit on my car. Great style and fitment and finish is great since it is OEM. I think the car NEEDS the wing, but my opinion. Here is a pic of the kit on my car. If you need any help with it, PM me.

I have the cab too and am thinking of going with the front and rockers without the tail. Is there a big difference in OEM vs Aftermarket (techart, ruf, ma shaw) for quality?

Sorry for the rookie question - but do they make those for the C4S as well? I would assume the wider body may need different rocker panels? and the bumper design is a little different up front too?

Any one have pics with it on a C4S cab?

Thanks,

Kirk

Mike are you considering the rear flares? I wouldn't recommend the kit without the wing.... Porsche spent tons of time in the wind-tunnels getting it just right..... It's not all about the looks.

You can do the front w/o the rear wing but not the rear wing w/o the front. Remember you have a retractable spoiler already on the car that assists with downforce.
