Tip Switches/Engine fan
I am trying to do the mod to add dash switches for the radiator fans and engine compartment fan. Two questions:
1. I purchased the footwell tip switches to use (part #996.613.980.00) to use for the fans. Each switch has 5 lugs. I need a simple on/off and to light the switches. Which lugs do you use for on/off, gound, background/interior light and finally the light that will show the fan is on?
2. The main relay carrier is located in the footwell by the driver's feet . There is a second relay carrier located somewhere. The DYI says behind the passenger seat. But in my 00 Cab it is not under the seat or under the carpet or jump seat. My shop manuals don't show where it is. I know there is a relay carrier in the well under the top compartment as I saw it when installing a SmartTop. Is this the second carrier which has the engine compartment fan? If not where is it?

Grounding pin #85 will activate the related fan. Therefore, run a wire from that pin(socket) to one side of your switch and then a wire from the other side of the switch to ground and, you're set.

I know to use pin #85 on the relay. My question is how to wire the lugs on the switch. i.e. the wire from pin #85 to which lug on the tip switch, and the wire to ground to which lug on the switch? Then I need to do the backlighting on the switch, and power the light to show the fan is on.
