Clear Bra Install Pics
Since there's been so much discussion of clear bra installations, I figured I'd post some pictures of my car getting the install. Below are pictures of my car during and after the clear bra installation at Detailing Dynamics in Long Island.

fuenfer, did you have any other areas done or just the front bumper/hood? How would you rate the quality of the install?
AFAIK DD is using the standard 3M protection film. They told me they are going to evaluate the 3M Aerospace film but are not ready to do installs with it yet.

P997C2S is right -- they use the standard 3M protection film.
I had the front bumper/hood done along with the headlights, the fog lights, the fender "wings" right around the headlight, strips behind each wheel well and underneath the rear bumpers beneath the rear wheels. I also had the bottoms of the doors done (i.e., to prevent scratches from shoes).
All in all, I'm quite happy with the install.

Clear film
I had Armorglove do my SC430 in the past. Not bad job, but it looks as this shop goes all out in hiding the seams! Did they remove/replace the headlights?
Are they able to cover the whole hood if requested? What about warranty? Armorglove give a lifetime on the film.
I may have to ship the C2S to this shop when it arrives!
Regards,
Deanski

Yes I believe they will cover the hood if you want. I think Armorglove uses a pre-cut kit. Is that correct?
AFAIK there is a five-year warranty from 3M but I don't know if that covers the labor cost.
It takes about 6-8 weeks to get an install appt. at DD. They really want you to leave the car there as they might not be able to complete the install in one day. They don't use a kit so there are no margins around the headlights etc.

Thanks for the update!
Yes I do believe Armorglove uses pre-cut sheets.
As long as they can cover the majority of the hood and parts of the fenders with no seams, that's what I'm looking for. As long as with them remove/replace headlamps not voiding warranty is my concern.
I've seen sheets protecting large areas on vehicles and as long as there is no seam, it looks darn good.
I hope they start to use the "Aerospace" film soon as well.
6 to 8 weeks? Wow, they must be busy as all hell!

There are no issues in removing your fog/running lights or headlights. They are designed to be easily removed by a car owner. The instructions are in the owner manual.
Yes, they told me they are very busy and it is time consuming for a custom install vs. installing a precut kit. They really prefer that you leave your car there for a few days as they cannot guarantee you'll get it back in one day. They do a lot of Ferrari installs from out of town owners/dealers who transport the cars there.

When Detail Dynamics did my 997, I was told that the 3M film sheet is not wide enough to cover the top part of a 911 hood in one piece. So, only the bottom 1/3rd is done. They do an excellent job though it does take a while to get an appointment.

Yup, they told me the same thing about covering the top part of a hood. And it also took me nearly a month to get an appointment -- though I have to say the end product was well worth the wait.
