You need to see OE's (Orient Express) 02+ Orient Red CAB. By far the best example of what a clean car looks like. Plus it helps that the paint is just in perfect glossy shape. He has several posts with pics of his cars so just do a search for his userID.

Default Orient Red is a very interesting paint

Originally, I wanted Arena Red, which was not available as a standard color in 2002 so I opted for Orient Red. Look at one in person, and in different light and you will agree. Besides Silver, Black, Grey, and Yellow are all Lemmings Colors.

Because of the way that the metallic particles are laid up in Orient Red, and the color of the particles (blue silver), depending on the time of day it changes to different shades of Red:

Dawn and Twilight - Arena Red or Burgandy
Noon - Guards Red
Early afternoon and late morning - Candy Apple Red
Late afternoon - Raspberry Red

Of course Arena Red is one of the 1% colors so it is going to be unique.

Orient Red looks best with either Graphite Grey or Natural leather interior.

You mean like the picture below?

J/K, actually, I like the other colors, too, but Arena Red is my fave. Arena Red was last a standard color in 2000.

There are several metallic reds, but they are all very different:
Orient Red - more "candy apple" red
Arena Red - more "burgundy" purple
Carmon Red - more "cinnamon" brown

I would say MJones' attachment is pretty representative of the actual color in real life maybe with just a tiny hint too much orange and a hair too dark. Reds are difficult for a lot of digital cameras. Many of Orient Express' pictures also show an orange or pink cast probably due to the sunset/sunrise/etc. I had a Sony digital camera that always gave reds an orange cast.

Here is a good general reference of interior/exterior colors, but note the colors aren't always the most accurate. Yoseif's Boxster Gallery (includes plenty of non-Boxsters, so don't worry):

http://www.whiteson.org/boxster/gallery/

See the Compare Colors link, too, but the picture for Orient Red vs Arena Red is too orange, and the Arena Red looks almost Carmon Red. Another red metallic is Zanzibar Red, but it is more of an orange. I don't think I've even seen one in real life.
