Default Carrera GT and Ford

I just saw the new Shelby GT500 commercial last night. There was a Carrera GT cameo in there (the mustang blows by it). I guess Ford needs to sell there cars now by comparing themselves to Porsche. Good marketing strategy but I still wouldn't buy one, a Mustang that is.

I had high hopes for this Stang, but the thing is way too heavy and suffers terribly from that big ole iron block. Many people have cancelled their orders when performance numbers disappointed.

I found the commercial quite comical, Mustang or Carrera GT? Whats your choice? LOL

That's pathetic...

The video is right in one aspect though: Given its weight and weight bias, this car belongs on the autobahn. I.e. long straight roads where you can go really fast without fear of having to change direction in a hurry .

Hrrmmm, 475 HP @ 4000 LBs , or 605 HP @ 3000 LBs
Not to mention the much superior 3 link solid axle on the Stang, obviously the Ford has the advantage in the straights and in the corners
I think the CGt is the winner here.

Well..... the "owner" of the Stang in the comercial isn't saying that he dislikes german sports cars.... he just dislikes american speed limits

Btw: How much is that type of Mustang?

It's a clever comercial, but quite a stupid comparison.

I think they are starting at 42k. Though I hear the dealerships are marking them up 10k.

Is it just me, or by having the new GT Stang pass the CGT, doesn't that kind of kick out ford's very own GT 40? Too many GT's, i swears lawdie lawdie...

well, in that commercials defense, he did say it wasn't he couldn't find a car in germany he liked, it was that he couldn't find a speed limit in the US that he liked. but the passing the CGT was a bit rediculous. I saw the commercial this past sunday with my girlfriend. I was like "yah, like THAT would happen....." LOL
