Attention South Florida Rennlisters:

We have set up the 3rd annual Key Largo Run to the Mariott on Florida Bay for
Saturday, November 11, 2006. The plan is to leave Fort Lauderdale or Miami
at 8 AM. The meeting point wiil be determined soon.

The Marriott will have a breakfast Buffet waiting for us. It is $13.95
per person.

There is plenty of parking by the waterfront for 20 to 30 cars.
If you have to many Pina Coladas after brunch, they have offered a special
room rate if anyone is interested.

All is confirmed except for:
1) How many Rennlisters are comming.
2) Best place to meet in Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.

So we need to know who will be joining us with a firm commitment,
and input as to the meeting place.

I am in. Perhaps we could have a group meet first in Fort Lauderdale (for those of us coming from the North) and meet up with the Miami-Dade folks a little farther south.

Great places to meet? What about the Stranahan House in downtown Fort Lauderdale? I'm a docent for this organization, I bet I can get them to let us meet in their parking lot. If not the Stranahan, then we could meet along Los Olas boulevard, and proceed from there.

Pedro's idea of the service plaza at exit 19 would be ideal for the Miami
group. Plenty of parking and just south of everybody.

Just a word the the "maybe" guys. We will need a firm commitment
within 1 week of the drive date, as the Marriott will need to set up
a table/tables and parking for us. So please keep this in mind.

Still looking for the ideal locale for the Lauderdale group.
The best spot would be plenty of parking room and easily
accessible to the turnpike. The more south in Broward the
better.

I vote for meeeting on the Turnpike at a service center. Las Olas is waaaay east of I-95 and further waaaaay east of the T-pike, so it'd add a lot of time driving just to get to the turnpike. Let's meet ON the turnpike and then we can blast off directly for the Keys.

And if you don't have one yet, Get a SunPass! (you need to get it a day or two in advnace of the drive ot set it up - you have to register it on-line or over the phone - you can't just get one at Publix and zoom through the toll booths. Ask me how I found this out )
