Default Brian Leask adjustable WUR

Has anyone here installed Brian's adjustable WUR?
Can you share how its changed things? More HP? Torque? Feel? Smoothness?

Never mind the theory, what's the 'reality'?

I've ordered a replacement for mine but not fitted it yet, as my car is running really well at the moment and "don't want to fix it if it ain't broke". I will fit it if any fuelling problems, or am I missing out?

I have his original adjustable WUR and it really helped in fixing a lean situation I was having at the high end of the RPM and Boost curves.

Since I installed mine he has introduced the next step of the evolution that includes an RPM trigger for enrichment which I think would be great but don't have any first hand experience with (yet).

Mark, you really need to install a AFR gauge to see where, if any, problems exist. The Innovate range seems really good VFM. Motec is probably a lot better but much more expensive. As for cheaper ones I don't think it is worth the risk considering the value of our engines (cost to rebuild).
Stephen Kaspar uses a Innovate LM-1 himself both on and off the dyno so it must be pretty good.

Nathan,
I have no problems and I'm not looking at any other options. Anthony has some direct experience of the adj WUR and I'm hoping there may also be some other 930/965 Rennlisters who can give their personal experiences.
Thanks.

I installed Brian's adjustable WUR and RPM solenoid switch about two weeks ago!!! HIGHLY RECCOMENDED... for the right application. My engine is pretty well modified and I'm running the Imagine Auto Fuel Head, which flows a ton of gas! Initially I modified my own WUR to allow the cold pressure adjustability. No matter what I did to lean out my AFRs, that fuel head delivered too much juice. I explained my engine specs to Brian and he adjusted the WUR before he shipped it to me. My car accelerates to redline with ease and runs a near perfect 12.3 AFR through the rev-range. Again, my engine is not stock, YMMV.

Brian's WUR and solenoid kit comes with amazingly detailed manuals. Right now, I have no desire to go EFI...My car hauls ***, and runs better than when it left the factory.

I won't get into too many specifics (better to contact Brian Leask directly), but the RPM solenoid kit allows you to delay the large dose of gas that the stock WUR boost enirchment circuit delivers, in many applications, too soon. I'm currently running the 4,200 RPM module which means that the full boost enrichment is delayed until the engine makes 4,200 RPMs...then an additional dose of fuel is delivered - more in line with when the engine actually needs it.

I'm not sure about your engine specifics, but you might be able to get by with the basic WUR mod...I've got a couple threads started about how to modify your own WUR, however, this mod does not offer the same level of adjustability that Brian's does. I should also point out that the stuff Brian uses in his WURs (the hardware for example) is nothing short of mil spec!

Thanks sandman. Brian has set up the new WUR to match my mods. At the moment my car runs beautifully with the standard WUR (although a few months ago I had some problems). The car performs flawlessly but I'm sure is wasting fuel mid range. I'll swap it when it needs something doing again...

Mine works great as is, the car runs great at all levels of boost. When I add the Leask RPM Acivated Solenoid and get the XD16 AFR guage in it should be even more "tunable"

Same here, WUR went down, replaced and running liike a freight train with a Euro Fuel head and delivery system. I can`t say whether it is delivering too much too early but it is smooth through the entire range and FAST!
Next time will be adjustable time.

That's the idea. Remember that your car can run great and be eating away at your engine at the same time

Just a little info. I spoke to Neil @ PD last friday and the new PC tuned Digital controller for the WUR is almost ready, finally! Even though this worked really well before, he always wanted the tuning via a laptop. BTW, this unit includes electronic boost control and timing retard. The retard function does require a new CDI or Igniter though.

This unit allows the fuel pressure to be fully adjustable (rich and lean) in 3D, across the whole RPM range with RPM verses MAP/load. I think there is MAP and TPS blend. As soon as I hear more I will post further info. Like most of their stuff, it will come with a fully terminated harness ready to install.
