Further to our previous discussion, a group buy has been arranged with UltimateGarage (www.ultimategarage.com) for the AC 3000N flat-top axle stands.

They can be found here and in the picture below.

The regular price for these is US$195/pair but, with a minimum order of 20 pairs, we can get them for US$170 + shipping (approx $20-26/pair depending upon destination). Most places list them for US$100 each.

This offer does not extend to APO, foreign customers, or Canada. But if there is enough Canadian interest, this may change.

Please add your name to this thread and indicate how many PAIRS of axle stands you want. He will not restrict this group buy to just 20 pairs but that is the minimum we need for special pricing. We'll close this May 23, 2007.

Is there a distinct advantage to these type of rubber flat top jack stands for an 964 as opposed to the type you pick up at Sears.

There is certainly a safety advantage to the pin-type vs the ratchet type. The ratchet type puts all the weight on a tiny lip of cast iron.

I have these from previous group purchase - they are great for maximum safety. Steve at Ultimate Garage, knows his products, and is a class act too.

IIRC, it was UG that came up with the idea for the padded, flat topped version. Or maybe they were the first company to sell that version. Either way, that's worth something all by itself.

Yes, according to the UG web site, it was them who designed them for AC to manufacture.

Since there is quite a bit of Canadian interest, I have been in contact with UG again and, I am hoping that with enough demand, he will relent and ship these stands north.

If any other Canadians are interested, please express interest in this thread so we can show him it is worth his while to agree to ship to Canada.

I'd be interested in 2 pairs, especially if they'll ship directly. I was thinking of trying to get them accepted at UPS in Buffalo and going down to pick them up, but if I don't have to, I'd rather not. So there's two more pairs to Canada...| |+| |
