Long story short, I was ordering some strut bars for my 964+993 and came across 2 versions.

1 is the shorter one for the regular fuel tank and the other is a longer one to accommodate the larger fuel tank (which was an option as well as standard on the cup cars). Both struts serve the same purpose but 1 sit a little higher, probably 1".

I was planning to order 2 of the shorter OEM ones while investigating the difference.

Currently Heigo make the longer one for Gert @ Carnewal but they will not produce the shorter one unless a minimum of 10 orders can be reached.

This is the exact same part as Porsche 96434352970, which is the standard strut brace on all 964/993 RS with the standard fuel tank. Heigo make the same one for Porsche for over 2x the price.

I can probably take between 2-4 myself so looking to see if there are a few others to complete the lot to get Heigo to make a run.

Price is 255 Euros from Gert which is a substantial savings over the ecstuning offering at 800 USD (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/96434352970/)

Hope we can get up enough interest otherwise I'll have to fork up for an OEM piece.

You might want to post this in the 964 forum too. Happy w my Rennline brace but this is another good option.

What is the benefit of a Heigo strut brace over the others? I'm unfamiliar with this brand.

its just the same as the OEM strut brace on the 993 and 964 RS. Heigo makes the Porsche oem one.

benefits? I guess I only use oem parts on my own car so the benefit is it’s over 50% less for the same oem part.

Perfect Power strut brace... It fits under the carpet, and looks very slick.

I might be interested - does this sit under or above the carpet and, if above, does it need the carpet to be modded in any way?

the strut ball will sit just on top of the fuel tank so you can put your carpet over or under, both ok.

my turbo comes with the short one (albeit in carbon) and the bar sits over the carpet. The carpet is tucked under. Obviously the carpet can be put over too, both works equally flush.

yes 100% it will fit a 993 cabrio as long as you have the standard 72L ~19 gallon fuel tank.
