It would have shaved an easy 1hr. off the time. Very straight forward, everything fit perfectly. I did it without having to take the muffers off as I just installed them 2 weeks ago. I did loosen the 3 bolts that are bracketed on the muffer to give them some leeway. Haven't had a chance to really drive the car or hear how she sounds now. I will report back later..

I did the X51 header and sport mufflers a while ago. I loved the new sound but wanted more power...so last week I added a set of AWE sport cats. Now I love the added power but feel the car may be a bit too loud. Did you also notice a nice bump in power but also more exhaust noise?

Just leaving the PSE on. They already sound great. Camber on the left rear I'm sure is contributing to the inside tire wear,--but for 17,000 miles on the Bridgestones I'm not complaining!

Spent some time cleaning up the X51 headers prior to installation. The inside welds were a bit messy. Before, and after ports and the tools used.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to put it on an engine dyno and make some tests prior to changing it over.

I did the headers and cats at the same time. I had just AWE mufflers in the beginning and felt actually the car wasnt really louder than stock, well maybe a little. Adding the headers and cats did add more music to the exhaust note (I hate to call that noise). The higher flow cats do add quite a bit more volume to the exhaust note. The headers dont add much if any really to the exhaust note.

Burning Brakes
bump on this
Anyone has the X51 headers part nos ?
Anyone has some measurable performance gains from them ?
Will those fit the C2 3,6 997 ?
Is it really worth it ?

dan, do you think cleaning up that area makes a difference? i can't imagine that there is any real airflow at that early point...airflow must still be pretty turbulent, just a thought, and i''m no engineer, but would llike to know more as i have the x-51 as well and would love to maximize what is already pretty impressive, and would that affect sound also?

Can you tell me when they offered you that price. I contacted them yesterday and they are quoting $410 per header. Quite a difference and curious what discounts, etc. you may have used to get that price. Thanks!!
