Looking to remove all the junk when I do the headers.

Question is what stays and what goes and what needs to be plugged up.

Hoping someone has done this.

I am attaching the PET photos for help in identification.

All the stuff above is gone in my car I did an EFI at the time #6 I welded the nut to the muffler. You have to plug the heads were the smog tubes go.

Start at the heads plugging each with 10mm bolts, then start pulling out the tubing. I am not sure you can remove the pump, but everything else goes.

Don't you have to pass emissions testing?

You can pretty remove everything there and just plug the cylinders with grub screws,i have just removed all this stuff myself although on pic no.2 at no.19 a couple of small vac pipes remain and one gets plugged that is around the throttle body area....if you need more help i can check later for you

What's the benefit of removing these items? My state just passed a law making cars 15 years or older with collector insurance exempt from emissions. I was going to get a cat bypass, thinking I could easily return it to stock if they decide to change the law later on. Would removing all this stuff be a fairly permanent thing?

I too just removed everything on my car, pump and all. Just cut the belt on the pump unless you want to remove the oil lines and all to get to the pulley. The only thing I had to plug was under the throttle body and the heads. You wont believe the room it gives you once everything is removed.

We have emissions testing in MD for all cars unless they are 25 years or older; you need a repair receipt greater than $450 to qualify for a waiver every two years. Never the less, my car's air injection system was removed because I had B&B headers installed on my car. I don't know about gains, but it might hurt resale if you ever want to sell it to someone in CA or another state with strict smog or emissions testing.

Passing emissions is not an issue for me

I was hoping someone who has done this would provide a little more specifics. A detailed step by step with pics would be ideal but I'd settle for a "remove these parts" and "plug here and here".

If someone could mark up the posted pictures, that would be awesome.

Say an "X" on the parts to remove and a "P" at the places that require plugging.

Thanks that is a good start. I ordered the bolts from IA to save some work. Now I just need to know what tubes to remove/plug.

Just as a side note, I cancelled the order with IA and bought them from Maryland Metrics for a much cheaper price.

I have done it myself, I took everything out including the pump which was difficult but possible. I have a non CAT car so only part 19 was in my car and I did not have 9 down wards so mine was possibly easier than yours. It all comes out very easily. I used the plugs from Imagine Auto in USA.
